Entomopoxvirus occlusion body sequencing

454 sequencing was performed on DNA isolated from occlusion bodies from entomopoxvirus (EPV) infected lepidopteran larvae. Adoxophyes honmai EPV (AHEV) was propagated in Adoxophyes honmai larvae, and Choristoneura biennis EPV (CBEV) was propagated in Choristoneura fumiferana prior to occlusion body isolation and sequencing. Occlusion bodies were found to contain small virus genomes in addition to their respective EPVs. AHEV_PLV1 and AHEV_PLV2 were detected within AHEV occlusion bodies while CBEV_PLV1 was detected within CBEV occlusion bodies.
