Hyphomicrobium sp. GJ21. Hyphomicrobium sp. GJ21

Hyphomicrobium sp. strain GJ21, a bacterium capable of using dichloromethane as its sole carbon and energy source, was isolated from a mixture of activated sludge from a wastewater treatment plant and soil samples from polluted sites collected in the Netherlands. Its genome was sequenced by HiSeq2000 and assembled using Velvet assembler. The obtained 3.84 Mb single scaffold, consisting of 4 contigs, was annotated using the MicroScope platform at Genoscope (https://www.genoscope.cns.fr/agc/microscope).
