ASSETS_D2.3_Comparative Regional Quantitative Datasets

This ASSETS dataset undertakes a systematic cross-regional analysis of the policy, regulatory, and labour frameworks shaping SE development in the six participating NUTS 2 regions: Bolzano–Bozen (ITH1), Dresden (DED2), Syddanmark (DK03), Ipeiros (EL54), Castile–Leon (ES41), Izmir Subregion (TR31). Given the recognised absence of reliable Eurostat- or national-statistics-based SE datasets at NUTS 2 level, ASSETS complemented the secondary-data indexes with an extensive set of fragmented but highly valuable regional statistical data gathered directly from local authorities, registries, observatories, and institutional stakeholders. This allows the project to a) identify mismatches between formal frameworks and on-the-ground conditions, b) reveal data blind spots resulting from inconsistent national data collection, c) strengthen the reliability and cross-regional comparability of the constructed SE condition indexes. By combining these two methodological layers, ASSETS produces a more robust, evidence-based understanding of regional SE ecosystems than either approach would allow independently.
