Digital Archive from a Geophysical Survey at the Barrowfields, Newquay Bay, Newquay, Cornwall, September 2024

This collection comprises images, geophysical survey data and raster GIS data from a geophysical survey that was carried out by South West Archaeology Ltd. (SWARCH) in September 2024 as part of a conservation scheme and an opportunity to better understand the site and the assets at the Barrowfields, Newquay Bay, Newquay, Cornwall. The geophysical survey identified the following anomalies: a ring ditch of a round, an enclosure, or a barrow; a ditch of an extant barrow; two ditches that are associated with drainage for a modern structure; six footpaths or trackways that are depicted on historic mapping and that are associated with modern structures; a curvilinear boundary or trackway; a historic boundary with an associated access point; an extant boundary bank; ploughing activity that is associated with medieval or later agricultural activity; an undated compacted or stony deposit; an infilled hollow or large pit; and 16 possible pits, tree throws, or patches of geological variation.
