SALAMI (Structural Analysis of Large Amounts of Music Information)

SALAMI is an innovative and ambitious computational musicology project. To date, music analysis has been conducted primarily by individuals and on a small scale. Our computational approach, combined with the large volumes of data now available from sources such as the Internet Archive, will — and, b) establish a methodology and tools that enable others to build upon this work in the future and expand the application scope of the technologies we have developed. The extensive resources of SALAMI allow musicologists to tackle their research in new and diverse ways, starting from datasets and proposing research questions that were previously unfeasible to pursue.
