A thermotolerant isolate, Saccharomyces cerevisiae NGY10, obtained from sugarcane distillery waste, exhibits high potential for lignocellulosic ethanol production. The strain is capable of efficient fermentation at 40 degree Celsius, achieving 92.81 and 86.43 percent fermentation efficiency during separate hydrolysis and fermentation and simulatenous saccharification and fermentation processes , respectively, using dilute acid-pretreated rice straw. The genome of NGY10 was sequenced using hybrid approach combining Illumina and Oxford Nanopore technologies. De novo assembly resulted in 39 contigs, with a total genome size of 12.8 Mb.
