The dataset comprises the plasma concentration of metabolic variables, milk yield and milk composition, live weight, and body condition score of North American (NAH) and New Zealand Holstein (NZH) cows managed under two contrasting feeding strategies (restricted, P30, vs. maximized grazing activity, PMAX) across days in milk (DIM). NAH and NZH are coded as 1 and 2, respectively, while P30 and PMAX are coded as 1 and 2, respectively. The body condition score (BCS) is expressed in Edmonson's scale (Edmonson et al., 1989).
