Effect of aquatic insects on lake sturgeon egg surface eukaryotic microbial communities

The study goal was to quantify and compare the effects of different insect taxa on the taxonomiccomposition and relative abundance of lake sturgeon egg surface eukaryotic microbial communities. Understandinghow and under what circumstances fish, aquatic insects, and microbes interact positively or negativelyunder future environmentally-induced changes in freshwater aquatic ecosystems is essential to ecosystemsustainability and to the ability of aquatic ecosystems to provide essential ecosystem services.
