Whole Genome Sequencing of Sabellaria alveolata, 2024

Sabellaria alveolata is a reef-building marine polychaete that plays a crucial role as an ecosystem engineer, supporting biodiversity in coastal environments. As a key model species for our research group, we aim to investigate its genetic diversity, physiological adaptations, and transcriptional responses to environmental changes. To facilitate these studies, a high-quality reference genome was generated. Genomic DNA was extracted from the thoracic tissue of a female specimen collected in 2018 from the Champeaux reef, France. The sequencing was performed using PacBio Sequel (SMRTLink v6.0.0.45198), and Illumina NextSeq 550 data were used to improve genome accuracy and completeness.
