Spatio-temporal and Cultivar-dependent Variations in the Cannabis Microbiome

The goals of this study were to examine the effects of differences in THC and CBD levels in a spatial and temporal manner on the microbiome of cannabis plants. The bacterial (16S rDNA) and fungal (ITS region) microbiome of three different C. sativa chemotypes (CBD Shark, CBD Yummy and Hash plant) were compared over commercial growth settings at four growth stages (propagation, pre-vegetation, flower and later flower) and at up to five different locations on each plant (depending on the age of the plant; rhizosphere, roots, phyllosphere, inflorescence and sweet leaves).
