Microarray technology is a powerful approach for studies of selected target sequences. To analyze differentially expressed genes in a lot of samples, NGS data can be used in the design of microarray probe sets . As such, combinatorial approaches using RNA-seq with custom-microarray provide more efficient method to isolate differentially expressed genes than does a single approach. As an important economic woody crops, tea plant lack its genomic information. In order to design a high-density custom microarray in tea plant, we used 454 sequencing platform to assemble the transcriptome dataset from leaves of tea plant and selected a catalogue of putative unigenes to design a 4Ã44K microarray in tea plant. This custom microarray of tea plant will provides important resource for transcriptional studies of tea plant.
