Angiostrongylus cantonensis. This species is a parasitic nematode (roundworm) which causes Angiostrongyliasis, the most common cause of eosinophilic meningitis in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Basin. The nematode commonly resides in the pulmonary arteries of rats. Snails are the primary intermediate hosts.
