Pasteurized Akkermansia muciniphila improves glucose and lipid metabolism in mice

This study investigated the effects of pasteurized Akkermansia muciniphila on glucose and lipid metabolism in mice. C57BL/6J mice were divided into control, model, intervention, and drug groups. After intervention, fecal samples were collected for 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and serum metabolic parameters were measured. Pasteurized A. muciniphila improved insulin resistance and dyslipidemia in model mice, which was associated with the restoration of gut microbiota diversity and the enrichment of beneficial taxa. These data support the potential of pasteurized A. muciniphila as a probiotic for the intervention of metabolic diseases.
