Redistribution of the map: Tree rows in Northern Belgium on the map of Ferraris (1771-1778)

Shows the location of tree rows as depicted on the Ferraris map of 1771–1778. Ferraris represented tree rows as a linear pattern of individual small trees with cast shadows—for instance, along roads, plot boundaries, or lynchets. These have been processed into lines using AI and GIS. Purpose of creation: Suitable for landscape research, landscape ecology, and studies on landscape perception, as well as for selecting appropriate locations for the (re)planting of hedgerows and tree rows based on cultural-historical patterns.
