POST-TRAUMATIC FRACTURES OF THE LOWER JAW

Post-traumatic fractures of the mandible remain among the most frequently encountered injuries in maxillofacial surgery, demanding precise diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to prevent long-term functional and aesthetic complications. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical and demographic characteristics of mandibular fractures among 16 patients assessed at Meridican clinics, with particular attention to fracture localization, etiology, and comparative distribution relative to other craniofacial fractures. Results demonstrated a predominance of fractures in the mandibular body and condylar regions, with road traffic accidents representing the leading etiological factor. These findings underscore the need for standardized treatment protocols and early surgical intervention.
