This data repository provides experimental and calculated datasets for annular cuttings transport in solid–liquid and multiphase slurry flow. The dataset supports analysis of hole-cleaning behavior in annular geometries under different operating and hydrodynamic conditions, including variations in fluid rheology, flow velocity, inclination, eccentricity, drill-pipe rotation, and particle transport behavior. The repository includes both original dimensional variables and final transformed non-dimensional parameters. This allows users to either directly apply the cleaned non-dimensional dataset for scaling analysis and model development, or use the complete calculation workbook to trace the dimensional-to-non-dimensional transformation from the original experimental parameters. The dataset includes five main response variables: dimensionless pressure, cuttings bed height ratio, ERT-based average in situ cuttings volume fraction, ERT-based maximum in situ cuttings volume fraction, and cuttings velocity ratio. These outputs allow users to study pressure loss, bed formation, particle transport velocity, and in situ cuttings accumulation within the annulus. Repository contents The repository contains four files: 1. Dimensionless parameters.xlsx This file contains the final cleaned non-dimensional dataset. The data are arranged into separate sheets for each output response: dimensionless pressure, cuttings bed height ratio, ERT-based average volume fraction, ERT-based maximum volume fraction, and cuttings velocity ratio. Each sheet contains the output variable together with the final non-dimensional input parameters. This file is suitable for dimensional analysis, empirical correlation development, scaling studies, statistical analysis, machine-learning model development, and comparison with CFD or mechanistic model results. 2. Calculation workbook.xlsx This file contains the full calculation workflow used to generate the non-dimensional dataset. It includes the original operating parameters, hydrodynamic parameters, measured outputs, intermediate calculations, auxiliary terms, and final non-dimensional transformations. This file allows users to verify the calculations, understand how each non-dimensional group was obtained, reuse the original dimensional variables, and prepare inputs for CFD or mechanistic models. 3. Formula datasheet.xlsx This file summarizes the primary and auxiliary equations used in the calculation workbook. It includes equations for hydrodynamic parameters, operating parameters, response variables, intermediate terms, and final non-dimensional groups. This file helps users interpret the symbols, units, and formulas used in the dataset and reproduce the dimensional transformation procedure. 4. README file The README file provides an overview of the repository structure, file descriptions, variable organization, and guidance for using the dataset. It helps users identify which file to use depending on their objective, such as direct analysis, calculation verification, formula interpretation, or model development.
