The Impact of Transformational Leadership on Innovative Work Behavior Through Knowledge Sharing Using SEM: A Study of Generation Z Employees in DKI Jakarta and Banten

This study aims to analyse the influence of Transformational Leadership on Innovative Work Behaviour, with Knowledge Sharing as a mediating variable among Generation Z employees in the DKI Jakarta and Banten areas. Generation Z that born in 1997 to 2012 represents a digital native workforce with strong adaptability to technological transformation and high innovation potential. In response to rapid digital and AI driven changes in the workplace, this research explores how Transformational Leadership can create a work environment that fosters Knowledge Sharing and enhances it. A quantitative method was employed using a purposive sampling technique. The study involved 446 valid respondents aged 17 to 28 years who currently work in the DKI Jakarta and Banten region analysis using Structural Equation Modelling supported by SmartPLS software. The findings indicate that Transformational Leadership influences Innovative Work Behavior, suggesting that transformational leaders play a key role in encouraging innovation among young employees. Also, the mediating role of Knowledge Sharing between Transformational Leadership and Innovative Work Behavior has an influence. These results highlight that Transformational Leadership can enhance both Knowledge Sharing and Innovative Work Behavior. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of leadership strategies in digitally evolving organisations. It emphasises the need for additional factors to be considered in future research to explain innovation behaviours among Generation Z employees better
