Healthy and diseased implant 16S rDNA. Bacteria

The present two cases shows the usefulness of implantoplasty (IP) and an apically positioned flap (APF) with free gingival graft (FGG) for treating peri-implantitis in the patients with history of periodontitis. To remove the peri-implant infection, the contaminated implant surface was treated by IP with erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Er:YAG) laser after flap elevation. Additionally, FGG was applied to increase keratinized mucosa and vestibular depth.
