Dataset description ANALYSIS-SHEET.xlsx — Analysis sheet for a systematic literature review on artificial intelligence and disinformation. General description This Excel file documents the complete process of identification, screening and selection of studies for a systematic literature review focused on the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and disinformation. The initial corpus was extracted from the Scopus database and covers publications from the 2020–2025 period. File structure The file contains three sheets, each corresponding to a phase of the review process: IDENTIFICATION — Contains the 562 records from the initial corpus obtained through the bibliographic search. Each record was assessed for inclusion or exclusion according to predefined criteria. Of these, 500 were excluded and 62 included. The main reasons for exclusion were: fewer than 10 citations (443), restricted access (28) and lack of thematic relevance to AI and disinformation (23). SCREENING — Contains the 85 records that passed the initial filter and underwent in-depth screening through full-text reading. At this stage, 23 additional records were excluded, leaving 62 studies confirmed for inclusion in the review. STUDIES INCLUDED IN REVIEW — Contains the 62 studies ultimately included in the review, with all qualitative analysis fields completed. The studies are classified into five thematic categories: AI as a tool to combat disinformation (23), Deepfakes (15), AI as a source of disinformation (9), Regulation and ethics of AI (9) and Algorithmic literacy (6). Fields collected (21 per record) All three sheets share the same column structure: ID Publicación: sequential identifier assigned to each record. Año: year of publication. Citas: number of citations received at the time of extraction. DOI: digital object identifier. Autor: authors with their Scopus Author IDs. Título: title of the publication. Fuente: journal or publication source. Acceso: type of access (Open Access, restricted, etc.). Quartile: journal quartile based on its impact factor. Palabras clave artículo (op.): keywords from the original article. Link: link to the Scopus record. Resumen artículo (op.): original abstract of the article. Áreas científicas: scientific areas to which the study belongs. Objeto de estudio y objetivos: description of the object of study and research objectives. Preguntas de investigación / Hipótesis: research questions or hypotheses formulated by the authors. Métodos: methodological design employed. Resultados principales: most relevant findings. Implicaciones: theoretical, practical or social implications derived from the study. Temática: thematic category assigned during coding. Incluír/Excluír: inclusion or exclusion decision for the record. Motivo de exclusión: reason for exclusion, where applicable. Notes Fields in columns 1 to 12 (from ID Publicación to Resumen artículo) were obtained from the Scopus export. Fields in columns 13 to 21 (from Áreas científicas to Motivo de exclusión) were completed manually by the author during the review and coding process.
