Türkiye Suç Olayları Veritabanı: Vaka düzeyinde cinayet kayıtları / Crime Incident Database for Turkey: Case-level homicide records

Bu veri seti, Türkiye Suç Olayları Veritabanı'nın 2023–2025 yıllarında basında belgelediği ölümlü cinayet vakalarının vaka düzeyindeki kodlanmış kayıtlarını (3.064 vaka, 3.543 öldürülen kişi) ve 973 ilçe için yıllık sayıları içerir. Kayıtlar olayın yılını, ayını, ilini ve ilçesini, yöntemi, öldürülen kişi sayısını, fail–mağdur ilişkisini ve cinsiyetleri verir. Veri seti, kullanım koşullarını kabul eden akademik ve sivil toplum çalışmalarına açılır. This dataset contains coded case-level records of the fatal homicide cases documented in the press by the Crime Incident Database for Turkey in 2023–2025 (3,064 cases, 3,543 people killed) and annual counts for 973 districts. The records give the year, month, province and district of each incident, the method, the number of people killed, the offender–victim relationship and the sex of victim and offender. The dataset is made available to academic and civil society work under terms of use. Vaka çiftleri haber metinlerindeki ortak sözcüklere göre aranıp tek tek okundu; 2023'te 44, 2024'te 61 vaka, aynı olayı anlatan vakayla birleştirildi ve dört vakanın türü, ölen sayısı ya da ili düzeltildi. Çoğunda iki vakadan birinin ili yanlış ya da boştu, bu nedenle bazı illerin ve ilçelerin sayıları değişti. Arama yalnız ortak sözcüğü olan çiftleri bulur, 2023 ve 2024 vakaları 2025 kadar sıkı denetlenmemiştir. Vaka dosyasında 2023 için 1.107, 2024 için 1.042 vaka vardır (2024 için önce 1.081). 2025'te aynı olayın iki vaka olarak sayıldığı 79 vaka birleştirildi ve olayı 2025'te olmayan 10 vaka çıkarıldı; 2025 için 915 vaka vardır (önce 1.007). Aksaray cinayetleri, vaka dosyasındaki il–ilçe çiftleri ve il adı, ay adı ya da sokak adıyla karışan vakalar haber sayfalarından yeniden okunurken 2025'te 19 vaka daha düzeltildi: ikisi aynı olayın ikinci vakası olarak birleştirildi, biri farklı illerde işlenen iki cinayeti tek vakaya bağlıyordu ve ikiye ayrıldı, altısının ilçesi ad benzerliği yüzünden (İmamoğlu, Yunusemre gibi) başka bir ile ait yazılmıştı, yedisinin ili cenaze ya da tutuklama yerinden, mahalle ya da sokak adından (Yunus Emre Mahallesi, Uluselvi Sokak) ya da ilçe adının ay adıyla karışmasından (Aralık) türetilmişti, biri yalnız tarihi yanlış yazılmıştı ve ikisinin olayı 2025'te değildi (yirmi yıl önce işlenmiş bir cinayetin ortaya çıkması ve çocuklarını 2004'te öldürmüş bir kişinin ölümsüz saldırısı), bunlar sayımdan çıkarıldı; vaka sayısı 915'tir. 228 vakanın ilişki, mağdur cinsiyeti, fail intiharı ve ölen sayısı alanları haber metninden yeniden okundu. İlçe dosyasındaki 2024 ve 2025 sayıları buna göre değişti. Version 2025.4 adds the cases of 2023, applies the fourth quality round of the source to the 2025 cases and corrects pairs of cases in which one event had been counted as two cases in the 2023 and 2024 cases. In all three years the raw event extraction was done with the locally run Qwen2.5-7B-Instruct model; the quality review was done with the Claude API in 2023, with Claude sessions in 2024 and in successive rounds in 2025, so the scope of the review is not exactly the same in the three years, and the number of articles downloaded for 2023 is about 70 per cent of that of 2024. Pairs of cases were searched for by the words their reports have in common and each pair was read; 44 cases in 2023 and 61 cases in 2024 were merged with the case describing the same event, and the type, number killed or province of four cases was corrected. In most of them one of the two cases had a wrong or missing province, so the counts of some provinces and districts changed. The search finds only pairs that share words, so the cases of 2023 and 2024 have not been checked as closely as those of 2025. The case file holds 1,107 cases for 2023 and 1,042 for 2024 (previously 1,081 for 2024). In 2025, 79 cases in which one event had been counted as two cases were merged and 10 cases whose event did not take place in 2025 were removed; the case file now holds 915 cases for 2025 (previously 1,007). When the homicides in Aksaray, the province–district pairs in the case file and the cases whose province was confused with a place name, a month name or a street name were read again from the report pages, 19 more cases in 2025 were corrected: two were merged as the second case of the same event, one had joined two homicides committed in different provinces and was split in two, six had a district belonging to another province because of similar names (such as İmamoğlu and Yunusemre), seven had a province taken from the place of burial or arrest, from a neighbourhood or street name (Yunus Emre Mahallesi, Uluselvi Sokak) or from a district name confused with a month name (Aralık), one had only a wrong date, and two concerned events that did not take place in 2025 (a homicide committed twenty years earlier that came to light, and a non-fatal attack by a man who had killed his children in 2004) and were removed from the count; the number of cases is 915. The relationship, victim sex, offender suicide and number-killed fields of 228 cases were read again from the text of the reports. The 2024 and 2025 counts in the district file changed accordingly.
