资源简介:
Mutations in RNA polymerase satisfies a wide range of selection pressures in bacteria. During a prolonged period of nutrient stress, these mutations can form populations that can multiply faster compared to its parent and keep the population thriving. These mutations alter growth dynamics as well as phenotypic characteristics of the bearer when compared to ancestor strain. We have isolated and characterised one such structural mutation from populations of Escherichia coli evolving in deep stationary phase.
