Effect of the anitibiotic JNJ8464 on the transcriptome of Mycobacterium avium strain MAC101

The antibiotic JNJ8464-derivative 80998879 was added to the growth medium of cultures of M.avium strain MAC101 and RNA was islated after 1.5 hours of incubation. RNAseq was performed with Illumina sequencing. With a FDR rate threshold of 0.05 a number of 12 genes were identified that were upregulated and 1 gene was down regulated. Overall design: Cells were grown in the presence (n=2) or absence (n=4) of the antibiotic JNJ8464 for 1.5 hours. Subsequently RNA was isolated and cDNA after depletion of rRNA was sequenced paired-end using Illumina technology.
