Supplementary Materials for "Power, Politeness, and Persuasion: Asymmetry in Israeli and Palestinian English-Language Conflict Discourse after October 2023"

This dataset contains: Annotated_Speeches.pdf – Full transcripts of the eight English-language political speeches analysed in the study, with rhetorical devices tagged in-text (e.g., [APPEAL TO PATHOS]) and a frequency table at the end of each speech. Codebook_29_Rhetorical_Devices.pdf – Operational definitions and illustrative examples for all 29 rhetorical device categories used in the study. This codebook served as the coding manual for both the primary researcher and the second coder in the intercoder reliability procedure (κ = 0.89).
