Seafloor bathymetry of the Gascoyne Marine Park
This flythrough highlights canyon environments within the Gascoyne Marine Park offshore northwestern Australia. The Cape Range Canyon is a relatively narrow, linear canyon that initiates on the continental slope, but is connected to the shelf via a narrow channel. The walls of the canyon are steep and reveal a history of slumping and retrogressive failure, that have broadened the canyon over time. The floor contains a series of deep plunge pools, indicative of the action of sediment-laden turbidity currents in further eroding this canyon. \nEpibenthos within the canyons was relatively sparse and likely regulated by disturbance associated with sedimentation in the canyons. Rock overhangs often supported the highest densities of benthic suspension feeders, including glass sponges, octocorals, and ascidians. \nBathymetry data and seafloor imagery for this flythrough was collected by the Schmidt Ocean Institute during survey FK200308. Funding was provided by Schmidt Ocean Institute, Geoscience Australia, the Australian Government’s National Environmental Science Program (NESP) Marine Biodiversity Hub, the Director of National Parks, and the Foundation for the WA Museum through a Woodside Marine Biodiversity Grant.

Benthic Macroinvertebrate Waterbody Occupancy Data
Percent waterbody occupancy data for each macroinvertebrate genus in the range map data. Data give percentages describing how each genus is partitioned between boatable streams, wadeable streams, inland lakes, coastal estuaries, and Laurentian Great Lakes. Percentages are corrected for sampling effort between the waterbody types.

Distribution of the sand-ascidian Seriocarpa rhizoides in surface sediments of Josephine-Bank, North Atlantic (Table 4)@en
Seriocarpa rhizoides Diehl 1969 was collected in abundance from the calcareous sand of the Josephine Bank (between Portugal and Madeira) during the „Meteor“ seamount cruises in 1967. Attachment in this loose soft substratum is effected by fine anchoring strands of the tests. Two irregular series of small polycarp-like hermaphrodite bodies which are embedded in a connective tissue lie directly below the endostyle, forming a tubular compound gonad, but without common ducts. The intermediate nature of the reproductive system with respect to arrangement and structure increases our knowledge about the polygenetic relations of the stylid-genera. Some of the hitherto known ecological facts point to the presumed „seamounts effect“ on this species.

Data set from a study of biological processes on the United States North Atlantic slope from 01 May 1984 to 31 September 1986 (NODC Accession 8800246)
This data set contains the results from a study of biological processes on the United States North Atlantic slope and rise sponsored by the Minerals Management Service (MMS), Department of Interior. The data were submitted by Battelle Ocean Sciences and Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory. Data were collected during following time periods. Cruises NA1-NA6 between November 1984 and September 1986 and cruises MD1-MD6 between May 1984 and November 1985 both used R/V Cape Hatteras, Oceanus and Gyre. Station locations are given by area names without latitudes and longitudes, and although specific, no definite day is given. The documentation includes descriptions of the substrate, comments and species codes.
