In vitro exploration of a two-species probiotic mixture in the healthy human intestinal microbial ecosystem

A mixture of the probiotics Heyndrickxia coagulans [ATB-BCS-042] and Lacticaseibacillus casei [THT 030401] was analyzed in three human intestinal microbial ecosystems using the TripleSHIME system. The samples analyzed include the feces of 3 volunteer female donors (fecal inocula) and 18 samples from the fermentation experiments, where the microbiota of the proximal and distal colons were simulated. This work contributes to the study of the effects of probiotic therapies on the human intestinal microbiota under healthy conditions.
