A transcriptomic comparative analysis was performed to gain further insight on the allergic or irritant molecular signature of skin reactions induced by amerchol L-101 patch tests. 10 patients with previously positive patch tests to Amerchol L-101 (AL-101) were retested in dose-response (10%-30%-50%-100%) and skin biopsies were collected from all tested sites as well as on control areas (petrolatum patch tests). Five subjects with previously negative patch tests to AL-101 were also retested with AL-101 100% and petrolatum and biopsied . All samples were analysed by gene microarray. Gene profiling results were compared with core molecular signatures of reference chemical allergen- and irritant-induced skin inflammation.
