Temperature profile and water depth data collected from HMAS DARWIN using BT and XBT casts in the North/South Pacific Ocean from 26 February 1983 to 07 August 1990 (NODC Accession 9000267)

The data in this accession consists of 2,679 observations that were collected as part of Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere project from multiple ships over a seven year period. The data was collected between February 1983 and August 1990. The real time data of water temperature at varying depth bathythermograph (XBT) was recorded in stripcharts by the Australian Oceanographic Data Center. Two boxes of stripcharts and radio logs were submitted to NODC by Mr. Ben J. Searle. The XBT data from these stripcharts have been digitized and is present in the current NODC data storage system in C116 file format.
