One version of the ADI and FADI was calculated for each sampling rate, as these indices do neither require nor allow for adjusting the FFT window size and the default frequency limitation settings closely match the ecologically relevant frequency range of our study area (Budka et al., 2023). Hence, the ADI was calculated with the maximum frequency set to 10 kHz (i.e., the default provided by the soundecology package as well as the ecologically relevant maximum frequency; the minimum frequency could not be set with this software; Villanueva-Rivera and Pijanowski, 2018). In addition, the FADI was calculated while limiting the frequency range from 0.5 to 10 kHz (i.e., the default frequency limitation ranges from 0.2 to 10 kHz, but since this is very similar to the ecologically relevant frequency range, we decided that comparing these two settings would have been redundant; Xu et al., 2023). Thus, 4 versions of the ADI and the FADI were calculated in total.
