Data from: Variation in seascape structure explains differences in mangrove fish assemblages at multiple spatial scales

This data set contains seascape feature data and abundance of data on fishes from 12 mangrove forest sites in Samoa. These data were collected to observe how the spatial structure of the seascape influences mangrove fish assemblage composition. Seascape data was derived from land cover classification methods using UAV aerial imagery and Sentinel satellite data, while fish abundance data was collected using casting net surveys in each of the 12 sites.

The seascape structure data includes polygon geometries of land, Rhizophora samoensis, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, seagrass beds, and coral reef flats, as well as point geometries of salinity, turbidity, and geomorphology for each site. The fish abundance data includes point geometries of each cast location and the abundance of species caught at each location. The dataset also includes a table of virtual swim nodes used for the calculation of shortest paths between catch locations and seascape features.

This dataset is available as a PostgreSQL .sql text file and requires the PostgreSQL extensions: PostGIS and pgRouting.
