Microbiota-mediated exacerbation of chemotherapy-induced toxicity through the suppression of interleukin-10 from macrophages

Microbiome has been shown to influence the efficacy and toxicity of chemotherapy, thereby impacting treatment outcomes. Understanding the mechanism by which microbiota affect chemotherapeutic toxicity would have profound impact on cancer management. In this study, we determined bacterial compositions in mice treated with oxaliplatin or PBS using 16S rDNA sequencing.
