Verticillium dahliae JR2 Raw sequence reads, Growth in pectin-rich medium compared with Czapek-Dox medium

The transcriptome of Verticillium dahliae JR2 wild-type cultured in pectin-rich simulated xylem medium (SXM, modified from Neumann and Dobinson (2003) as described by Hollensteiner et al. (2017)) was compared versus Czapek-Dox medium (CDM, .modified from Smith (1949) as described by Harting et al. (2020)). The JR2 wild-type was pre-cultured shaking at 120 rpm in 50 ml of liquid CDM at 25 C for 5 days. Mycelia were then transferred to either CDM or to pectin-rich SXM and further incubated for 8 hours.
