Duron and Yorkshire burn model study: mapping of transcriptome of Yorkshire and red Duroc pig breed during cutaneous burn-wound healing.

Using porcine dorsal burn models, we studied the shifts in the host transcriptomics in response to dorsal skin burn injury. Also, host response transcriptomics of two breeds of commonly used pigs, Yorkshire and red Duroc, was analyzed and compared in order to better understand underlying molecular mechanisms that result in different rates of healing and scar formation in these two breeds.
