Fill from buried features at Sites 48SW9428, 48SW9429, and 48SW9492 in
southwestern Wyoming was examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. These
sites are located in the southern portion of the Great Divide Basin in presently
inactive dune fields. Site 48SW9428 is a Late Archaic site, while 48SW9429 and
48SW9492 represent Late Prehistoric occupations. All of the features were
partially disturbed prior to burial by wind and wind-blown sand. Pollen and
macrofloral analyses may provide information concerning use of the features for
processing food.
