Airborne Hirst volumetric sampling gives an insight into atmospheric dispersion of pollen and fungal spores
收藏资源简介:
Description of Flight LogsThis dataset includes six flight logs from airborne sampling campaigns conducted between August 30 and September 1, 2024, over Sjælland, Denmark, using FlyHirst — a lightweight Hirst-type volumetric sampler mounted on an ultralight aircraft. The goal was to collect high-resolution airborne pollen and fungal spore data at varying altitudes and across different land use types. Flight 1 (Aug 30, afternoon) collected cumulative samples over agricultural areas but lacked temporal resolution due to a technical malfunction. (Flight1.kml; Figure S1) Flight 2 (Aug 30, evening) sampled mixed agricultural and forested landscapes at two altitudes (250 m and 407 m a.g.l.). (Flight2.kml; Figure S2) Flight 3 (Aug 31, afternoon) covered forests, water bodies, and crop fields, allowing comparison of bioaerosol concentrations across land use types. (Flight3.kml; Figures S3 and S4) Flight 4 (Aug 31, evening) utilized both FlyHirst and isokinetic samplers at multiple altitudes to validate particle concentrations over primarily agricultural terrain. (Flight4.kml; Figure S5) Flight 5 (Sep 1, afternoon) performed a high-altitude profile sampling up to 2797 m a.g.l., targeting vertical distribution patterns of pollen and spores. (Flight5.kml; Figure S6) Flight 6 (Sep 1, evening) conducted low-altitude transects (~317 m a.g.l.) across agricultural and urban areas. (Flight6.kml; Figure S7) All flights provide minute-resolved spatially linked data, supporting detailed 3D mapping of bioaerosol concentrations and diversity.
