This work explores the enhancement of in-situ biological methanation through the application of fuzzy logic control (FLC) to regulate hydrogen (H2) input in a fixed-bed reactor. By dynamically aligning H2 supply with the metabolic capacity of the microbial community using real-time process data, the approach aims to boost methane (CH4) yield and conversion efficiency. This adaptive strategy enables the efficient transformation and storage of surplus renewable hydrogen as biomethane, offering a responsive solution for integrating biological methanation into flexible energy systems. As such, it represents a key step toward more stable, efficient, and infrastructure-compatible power-to-gas applications.
