PacBio Sequencing of Microbiota from Ceacam1-Deficient Mouse Stools in Steroid-Refractory Gut aGVHD Models

This study explores the role of Ceacam1 deficiency in intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) and its effect on steroid-refractory gut acute graft-versus-host disease (SR-Gut-aGVHD) following allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. Using PacBio sequencing of microbiota in mouse stool samples, the study investigates how Ceacam1 deficiency impacts gut microbiome and immune responses, particularly anti-inflammatory pTregs and pro-inflammatory T cells. The findings offer insights into SR-Gut-aGVHD mechanisms and highlight CEACAM1 as a potential therapeutic target for preventing this condition.
