Spatial transcriptional alterations of schizophrenia-associated genes in response to risperidone.

The project aimed to assess the effects of the antipsychotic drug risperidone on gene expression in the coronal section of the murine forebrain. Adult (10 weeks old) male inbred mice from the C57BL 6N strain (Charles River) were used in all of the experiments. Mice were injected i.p. with risperidone (0,5 mg/kg) or vehicle (1% Tween solution) and sacrificed 2 hours after the acute injection of risperidone. Coronal brain sections 1.54-1.18 mm from bregma were mounted on Visium slides, stained, and processed to construct sequencing libraries.
