Number of hospitals in Latin America 2024, by type

In 2024, Brazil had the highest number of hospitals in Latin America, with more than 6,000. That year, around 62 percent of Brazilian hospitals were private, while 38 percent were public hospitals. Similarly, Mexican private hospitals amounted to 2,296 institutions, while public hospitals totaled 1,291 in the North American country that year.
