资源简介:
Yucca Cordage. Accession AZRU-00008, Catalog #1371. Morris FS 5292. Analyzed by Laurie Webster, 2006. Bundle of finely worked 3Z-S yucca cordage, wrapped with same and tied with a square knot. Some strands loop back and forth, others have cut ends. Reminiscent of other cordage for the attachment of feathers. Measurements: L 19.0, D 1.0 (where bound) CM. Image: AZRU8-1371 A: bundle of 3z-S yucca cordage. AZRU8-1371 B: cordage detail showing overhand knot. Recovered from Earl Morris' excavation of Room 189, Aztec West Ruin. Morris noted that Room 189 “contained the largest quantity of perishable objects from the Chaco period that have to date been taken from any chamber in the western half of the pueblo. [Later occupants] laid down a 1 to 3 inch floor of adobe upon the earlier refuse and a bin was built up in the northwest corner” (Morris1928:371).
