资源简介:
Data sets of the article "Micro-PIV study on the influence of viscosity on the dynamics of droplet impact onto a thin film". The article focuses on the evolution of the radial velocity within the crown crater formed during droplet impact onto a thin liquid film. Using four different silicone oils, a Reynolds numbers range of one order is covered. We confirm by applying Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) that the spreading velocity increases linearly with radial distance. However, the temporal decrease of the radial velocity exhibits an exponential decay. This can be explained by the known exponential decay of pressure force. Hence, the experimental analysis is further corroborated by findings from analytical considerations, numerical simulations, and film height measurements. The dataset allows you to reproduce some of the presented plots. People are encouraged to use the data to compare their own numerical code, experiments or image and video post-processing algorithms with our results. The data consists of experimental raw images as well as derived quantities. Moreover, data produced with the inhouse multiphase flow solver Free Surface 3D (FS3D) are given. You can find detailed information about the provided experimental and numerical data in README.md. (2024-03-13)
