A signal box is an installation that allows points to be operated, routes to be set and signals to be controlled so that train traffic can run safely in its zone of action. The regularity of train service, in collaboration with Traffic Control, and the operation of the public address system and telefiche in stations (information to passengers about train traffic) are also ensured from the signal boxes.
