Comparative Dataset of Differentially Expressed Genes and Conserved Orthologs During the Flower-to-Fruit Transition in Angiosperms

This dataset contains a comparative gene expression and orthology resource associated with the flower-to-fruit transition (TFF) in angiosperms. It includes curated lists of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) identified from published transcriptomes of floral development and TFF in four species: Arabidopsis thaliana, Solanum lycopersicum, Vitis vinifera, and Vanilla planifolia. Transcriptomes were selected based on the availability of peer-reviewed publications and curated genome annotations in Ensembl Plants. For each species, DEG lists associated with floral development and reproductive transition were compiled and standardized. Using a custom Perl-based pipeline, orthology relationships were inferred by filtering DEG-associated sequences against reference genome databases. This allowed the identification of conserved orthologous genes shared across the four species, using the V. planifolia transcriptome as the reference framework.
