资源简介:
Forest boundaries are the forest edges (periphery 100m width) of patches when patches are wide enough to contain an interior area. They likely contain edge habitat, that are influenced by the adjacent non-forest lands and that in turn have effects on interior habitat. The proportion of forest in edges (100m width) is reported for the year 2006 per landscape units of 25 km by 25 km, per provinces (NUTS2/3) and per country (NUTS 0). The proportion of forest edges which are along natural habitats tells about the predominance –or not- of natural landscape context at forest edges. The pre-dominance of agricultural or artificial lands at forest edges (low index value) points at anthropogenic fragmentation causes.
