Your Muslim Neighbor 2009, Survey among Muslims

Capacent Research has conducted a survey for DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation) among Muslims in Denmark on their attitudes towards various subjects. The motivation behind this survey is that DR in a number of programmes will clarify whether the debate on the largest minority in Denmark is based on myths and prejudice. The aim of this study is to provide further information for the viewers, listeners and users of DR’s services on their Muslim neighbours who identify with their religious and cultural background. The aim of this study is to raise a debate on possibilities and challenges and to provide inspiration for solutions. DR has in co-operation with Capacent Research conducted a survey solely among Danish Muslims. Demographic factors such as country of origin and denomination have been weighted in order to make the sample representative of the Muslim population in Denmark. This survey is compared to an overall study of the Danish population who are above eighteen years of age. This survey was conducted among Capacent Research’s internet panel in 2009. The respondents were asked about their attitudes towards bringing up children, terror and the democratic values and civil rights in Denmark.
