资源简介:
Dentist’s clinical decision-making regarding restorative interventions for the treatment of caries exhibits significant variability. Conjoint analysis an Indirect (decompositional) statistical method, deconstructs the task into a series of choices or ratings. Collectively, these choices or ratings, enable the computation of the relative importance of each studied attribute. Studies examining dentists use of specific techniques and the various factors influencing their clinical decision are relatively rare. This study evaluated Pedodontists perception of non-clinical factors, such as child’s age, level of cooperation, and vulnerability status, and their influence on decisions to perform Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) approach using hypothetical patient scenarios and a conjoint design. The advantage of the conjoint design is its ability to more accurately measure psychological, real or any hidden factors in professional behaviour (decision making). The web-based survey questionnaire with the help of Google forms was administered to all the pedodontists registered as life members. Ethical approval was obtained from the Institutional Review Board (BDC/383/2017-18). Informed consent was obtained from the participant through the consent form enclosed in questionnaire.
