Counts and lengths of fish larvae, Georges Bank region, MOCNESS tow samples, Jan-June 1995-1999, US GLOBEC.
收藏资源简介:
MOCNESS-1 plankton tow samples from thirty cruises to the Gulf of Maine and Georges Bank region were screened for fish larvae abundance. Fish larvae were identified by species and measured for lengths. Sampling was conducted over a fixed sampling grid, on a monthly basis (January-June) for years 1995-1999. The MOCNESS-1 plankton sampler has nine rectangular nets (1m x 1.4m) with a mesh size of 0.333 mm, which are opened and closed sequentially by commands through conducting cable from the surface. When towed at 45 degrees, the net mouth has a 1 square meter sampling area. Note: The list of taxonomic names reported in the keywords section reflects only those species that are of commerical interest. The complete list of organisms identified is too time-consuming to compile and report here in total. The user is urged to use the edit/find command to determine if a taxa of interest is present in the data that does not appear in the keyword list.
