Lab 3 field training

Density of bugs and insects was studied at near the Stong pond and saywell woodlot at York University On September 30th/14 between 2:30 - 5:30 PM to study the distribution of insects in two distinct areas with different features. . A quadrat was randomly placed on the ground<br>and any bugs or insects that were in the boundaries of the quadrat or that passed through the quadrat were recorded. The counting boundaries include up to the farthest edges of the quadrat.<br>The size of the grass and plants inside the boundaries of the quadrat were recorded.<br>The space of the quadrat was watched for 2 minute intervals and the bugs and insects were then recorded by species.<br>The genus and species of each organism was used in the column heads for keeping track of how many organisms were in each interval.
