Vitamin B12-dependent metabolism controls MAPK-induced germ cell and VPCs differentiation in C. elegans

In this project we propose to measure total RNA levels in worms fed with E. coli OP50 (standard laboratory food) or Comamonas aquatica DA1877. We will also analyze MAPK gain-of-function [let-60(ga89)] worms and how these respond to E. coli and Comamonas. This will allow us to study if different diets changes gene expression and what is the relationship with MAPK activity. The project was conducted by Ana Cristina Laranjeira l. Samples were prepared by Ana Laranjeira (4 conditions, 3 replicates per condition in a total of 12 samples) and delivered to the functional genomic center Zurich, which conducted the RNA sequencing as well as the subsequent bioinformatic analysis.
