These data come from a research on international bankers that acted as diplomatic agents between Spain, France, England and the United States during the Napoleonic Wars. In the period 1805-1808, the bankers of Hope & Co. and Baring were involved in silver shipments from Vera Cruz to Europe. The research answered questions as: what motivated them to undertake this complex undertaking, how did they manage to carry out this operation despite the war situation and what were the effects of their involvement? In the table a list of the relevant shipments is presented.
