LINGUOCULTURAL ASPECTS OF SIMILES IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK PROVERBS

Language and culture are inseparably connected, and this relationship is clearly reflected in proverbs. Proverbs serve as a mirror of a nation’s historical experience, worldview, moral values, and traditions. Among various stylistic devices used in proverbs, similes play a significant role in creating expressiveness, imagery, and emotional impact. This thesis aims to analyze the linguocultural aspects of similes in English and Uzbek proverbs, identifying both universal and culture-specific features.
